Juice Beauty Skincare Review
Juice Beauty is a “Clinically Validated, Authentically Organic beauty products”. I ran across the brand while shopping around the skincare department for a new blog post. I want to start by saying that I had never seen this brand before but was interested by the organic claim as well as the name. However I didn’t get a sustainable and organic feeling from the plastic packaging. I got a little bit of everything to try it all out and see what I thought of the line. The Stem Cellular 2-in-1 Cleanser claims to be “gentle and conditioning deeply cleansing… blended with fruit stem cells and Vitamin C. It smells like lemon and orange, it doesn’t really foam up much which I like however it left my skin feeling a little dry. I also don’t like that the cleanser has a clear ring due to the fact that it has Vitamin C which oxidizes from sun exposure so this will go bad very quickly. The Hydrating Mist claims to be a “refreshing blend of reship, ylang ylang, grapeseed oil and antioxidant rich organic botanicals juices for a fresh, radiant complexion”. It smelled very nice and felt cooling however after a few seconds I started to feel a tingle from the Alcohol it contains. The Brightening Essence claims to “visibly soothe, refine, and balance moisture with this hydrating essence for a brighter, more luminous and smoother complexion”. It smelled like Green tea and Vitamin C and I like that it also contains Aloe. It felt soothing for the first few seconds and then I started to turn a little red from Alcohol it contained. The Green Apple Peel for Sensitive skin claimed to “exfoliate and help reduce the appearance of dark spots and discoloration”. I love the smell of apple and lemon, it felt very cooling at first from the Aloe Vera it contained and I liked the consistency it was very easy to apply. I left it on for 10 minutes and when I removed it my skin felt smoother, it tingled a little but I like that when I took it off my skin looked more radiant. The Organic Treatment Oil claims to “deliver concentrated hydration, potent antioxidants and vital nutrients”. It smells like Sunflower Oil which was a little overwhelming for me as the smell lingers, it felt hydrating however I didn’t like the packaging because it is clear and in a bottle dropper system which allows it to oxidize and it contains citrus which oxidizes very quickly with air and light exposure. The Antioxidant Serum claims to “help reduce free radicals that may contribute to the appearance of aging”. It smells like Apple and Oranges and it has a much nicer smell than the Treatment Oil, it feels hydrating at first and soaks in quickly however it started to tingle and I realized it was actually drying out my skin with the Alchol it contained. The Brightening Eye Cream claims to “reduce the appearance of dark spots and discoloration” it smells like apple and I like that it’s in an airtight container, however I don’t like that its a cream because it sat very heavy underneath my eyes and it also made my under eyes very red from the multiple types of Alcohol it contained. The Age Defy Moisturizer claims to “create a brighter and smoother looking complexion” I love the smell of Green Apple and grape. It felt okay at first and absorbed okay however after a few seconds it started to sting a little and it was from a few types of Alcohol. Overall I was surprised that I didn’t really love the brand from the plastic packaging to the Alcohol in the formulas that undermined the hydration since Alcohol is drying. I wanted to love Juice Beauty however I can’t until they change their packaging to complete glass since plastic is not considered organic as well as alcohol free. Thanks so much for reading.
