Biossance Skincare Review
Biossance, a pioneering American skincare brand available at Sephora, is celebrated for its dedication to clean beauty and sustainability. Born from the invention of a skin-identical hydrating molecule—squalane—made from sustainable fermented sugarcane, Biossance offers a range of effective, non-toxic skincare products. Unlike squalene, which is derived from shark liver and can be unstable in formulations, squalane is a hydrogenated version that is both stable and ethically sourced. This innovative molecule led to the creation of some of the world’s most powerful skincare formulas.
The Squalane + Antioxidant Cleansing Oil (face wash) had a pleasant Orange scent, while it was super soft and hydrating, and the packaging inside the box highlights that their use of squalane saves 2 million sharks every year. The Squalane + BHA Pore-Minimizing Toner smells like rosemary and lavender, which it contains, and I love because they are hydrating. The squalane and BHA are exfoliating and cleansing, and it also contains willow bark, which helps manage oil levels in the skin. The Squalane + Vitamin C Rose Oil was super calming to my skin while providing visible hydration and leaving a dewy look upon application. My skin looks great after using it, and it smells like roses, which I love because rose is one of my favorite scents in skincare. The Squalane + Peptide Eye Gel was very hydrating; I usually opt for gels because they are pressed and penetrate deeper into the skin. I appreciate that it contains cucumber, similar to my skincare line, and includes an unusual ingredient—goji berries. The Squalane + Vitamin C Rose Moisturizer was amazing, with fermented lemon peel and Damascus rose promoting radiance and even skin tone. It felt very soft and lightweight on my skin while leaving it glowing.
With its commitment to eco-friendly practices, Biossance provides a luxurious approach to achieving radiant, healthy skin, making it a favorite among skincare enthusiasts.
