BeautyCounter Skincare Review

BeautyCounter is a “clean” skincare brand that I came across while online a few days ago. I looked at their website and instantly knew I had too try it out, so I ordered a little bit of everything. I got three cleansers; the refresh foaming cleanser, the clear pore cleanser, and the lotus glow cleansing balm. The foaming cleanser and clear pore cleanser both claim to refresh your skin while gently cleansing however out of the two I preferred the clear pore cleanser as it was a gel and it contained Aloe Vera which hydrated my skin while cleansing. The Lotus glow cleansing balm claimed to “With a blend of lotus extract, jojoba seed oil, and avocado seed oil, Lotus Glow Cleansing Balm soothes and destresses skin while increasing luminosity” it also said that you could use it as a mask. I personally didn’t like the Lotus Glow Cleansing Balm as it felt very oily and it made my skin feel dry. I also didn’t like that it made my skin red from Alchol that it contained and I tried it out as a mask and it tingled and itched the entire time while leaving my skin dry. The Overnight Resurfacing peel claims to be a “leave-on AHA/BHA peel improves skin texture and boosts clarity without irritation or over-drying” however after using it I can say that it caused irritation left my skin itchy and dry. If you have sensitive skin like me, I wouldn’t recommend using the Resurfacing Peel. I got the facial oil which claimed to be a hydrating oil, however I didn’t like it as it was in a dispenser system that isn’t airtight and it contained Vitamin C which oxidizes so I wouldn’t use it again as it would go bad right after opening. The Vitamin C Serum contained turmeric and claimed to be a brightening serum, I did like it and it was in an airtight system which I appreciated, the only thing I didn’t like was the smell but I liked that it soaked in fast and felt very hydrating. The Tripeptide Serum claimed to hydrate however it didn’t do anything for me and it felt very sticky. I bought three different moisturizers, one was a cream, a gel and a deep hydrating cream. I didn’t like the cream or deep hydrating cream as they both were very thick and sticky and contained alcohol, however I did like the gel as it contained Aloe Vera and sunk directly into my skin. Thanks so much for reading xoxo -Chaz
